In all these years, I have NEVER been to a meet at ACC, so I don't know what to tell you in terms of space. I think it is all concrete, so bring your own shade, drinks, etc. I will try to find out some more details for you in the next couple of days. I DO know that parking is NOT ALLOWED in the member parking lot, so you MUST park on the street.

First half: (1) Karen Truelock, (2) Wes Baca, (3) Joann Clemens, (4) OPEN, (5) OPEN, (6) OPEN,

I NEED 8 MORE TIMERS AND 1 HOSPITALITY VOLUNTEER. This is not optional. We must fill these spots. Please respond immediately.

Friday, July 19
8:30 - 9:30 a.m.: Practice for Sundance qualifiers and relays ONLY

Saturday, July 20 - SUNDANCE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET, West Mesa Aquatic Center
Report time: TBA
Warm-up time: TBA
Start time: TBA

Our set-up area will be where it's always been, at the northwest corner of the grass behind the indoor facility. Bring plenty of shade, chairs, food, and drinks. This year, there will be food vendors (Chick-Fil-A is one that I recall for sure), so bring some cash if you want to partake. WMAC will NOT be open to the public on this day. Folding chairs and coolers are not allowed inside on the bleachers - there's just not enough space. Typically, we pitch our "camp" outside, and go inside to watch races. This is not like a regular season meet, in that parents are not allowed to walk kids to races. Coaches will help get kids where they need to be at the right time, and older kids should just know :) Remember that the free relay is in the MIDDLE of the meet, not at the end at Sundance.

More details to come later in the week.

Highpoint Party: TBA (this will be last minute, as always, so watch your email!)

Tuesday, July 23 - Awards Banquet
"Swimming Through the Decades"
See email from Brenda McCallon, and PLEASE RSVP in a timely manner. This event is always so much fun. And made more fun this year by the costumes that Monica and I already have planned :)

Finally, each year a Sundance team is awarded the Peter B. Barney Sportsmanship Award at the conclusion of the Championship meet. This award is voted upon by each team in the league. This past Thursday at the Sundance meeting, Four Hills was in a run-off with two other teams to receive this award! Even if we don't end up winning it, it is a great honor to be perceived in this way by our fellow Sundance League teams. I am proud of our swimmers and our parents for conducting ourselves in such a way as to make this kind of impression throughout the league. It's good to be a Gator!
